- Hey there. I am a former military guy. I spent all 10+ years in AWACS. My first job had me doing computer support for both the mainframe/AWACS computer system and traditional network support. Then I decided to take a flying job in which eventually I became an instructor. I got out to go to school with hopes of going back in as an officer. I got a bit detoured when I got a job with Virginia Tech. Now just out enjoying the civilian life...and not being in the sandbox called the Middle East anymore. If anyone is curious, I was part of the 752 Computer Systems Squadron 1992-1996, 965 Airborne Warning and Air Control Squadron from 1996 - 1999 and the 962 Airborne Air Control Squadron from 1999-2002.
